TIFA
Tifa is a typical musical instrument from eastern Indonesia, especially Maluku and Papua. This musical instrument is shaped like a drum and made of wood with a hole in the middle. This instrument can be played by hitting it, just like a drum. Tifa is made of wood that has been removed from the contents and at one time the contents are closed and usually the cover uses deer or monitor lizard skin that has been dried in order to produce a good and beautiful sound. The shape of this musical instrument is usually engraved, every tribe in Maluku and Papua has Tifa with its own characteristics.
This musical instrument is usually used for every cultural event and festival held in Maluku and Papua. The philosophical meaning in Tifa itself is a musical instrument to unite and bring people together. Generally, the community will be moved and headed towards the origin of Tifa's wasp chant. In other words, Tifa can be said to be a tool for driving social capital.
It is said that in order to produce a good sound, in a wooden hole, lizard skin is given, accompanied by an anon of honey bee nest dregs. If you look closely, the surface of the lizard skin which is used as the base for Tifa's beats looks like a lump made of honey bee dregs. Well, this is what is believed to be the producer of echoes and resonances for humming the Tifa Panjang dance.
